It was rather cool in the territory this dawn as Rie made her way from the base camp where the dens were located and headed down towards the Chinokee River. Entire body alert against possible threats, she stepped two paws into the cool river before bending down and taking one, two laps at the coolness, satiating her mild thirst. Her fur was keeping her warm as she pushed further into the river, soaking herself and taking a quick bath as she always did. This caused a smile to appear on her maw as she swam to the other side and shook off, content to lay at the bank to dry off.
The sun continued to rise above the horizon line and further warm the earth below, showing Rie that there was a slim chance of snow today. No clouds hung in the sky as the dawn colors of reds, oranges, purples, and blues erupted through the expanse of sky. Sighing with contentment, Rie curled his tail against her body, keeping in her warmth and letting herself dry off for a time before she would once again he pushing off to look around the territory.

Denali was following Rie's scent, nose close to the ground as she ran. She kept taking quick looks behind her before returning to the ground. The scent path was fresh and untouched by any other animal, so the Fae had no problem with finding her Alpha.
"Rie," she panted, bowing her head in respect as she trotted up to her pack leader. She looked behind her again and then back to Rie. "Er, Ebony is here to see you, Sire." she stuttered. When the Alpha had shown up at the tribe boundary, Denali wasn't sure what to do. She decided on bringing her here, and she hoped she had made the right choice.

The crisp air of the morning and the relief it brought wasn't lost on Rie. It was a nice, clean, clear morning and it was perfect for those who had thick fur to keep them warm. Being as this was what Rie had, she was perfectly content as she lay on the bank of the river and rested.
Her perfect stillness wasn't for long, however, when she quickly heard and saw one of her subordinates come rushing in her direction, announcing the arrival of the Shinook Alphess. It was an odd and rather spontanious visit, but Rie was not hostile by nature and therefore she just nodded her head at the femme before her. "Has she come along with you, or am I to meet her somewhere?" It didn't matter either way because Rie wasn't at all planning on doing anything else in the next small frame of time.

The Fae looked to the ground sheepishly, "Actually,-" she began to admitt, but the wolf in question stepped from the shadows and padded quietly to the Alphess.

Ebony had indeed been following the subordinate female as she made her way to her Alpha. The wolf was quite a great tracker, Ebony had to admit. As Denali greeted her leader and explained everything, Ebony stepped out into the open where the wolves could see her. She padded up to the fellow Alpha and sat down, dipping her head in greeting.
"Hello, Rie. It's good to see you."

Rie's eyes diverted from Denali to Ebony when the dark fae stepped out of the shadows to greet her. Nodding her head, Rie sat up and tipped her head down in respect towards a fellow Alphess. "It's been awhile, Ebony. How nice it is to see you again." She gave a slight smile, indicating that she was rather pleased to see the other femme there. Though as her words implied it wasn't often that Ebony came to greet her, and soon she became curious. "What brings you to my lands? I hope it is no foul news." The day was much too beautiful for that, Rie believed, and it would be awfully sour for fate to bring them ill-word on such a day.

Ebony did not smile. She wasn't the smiling type, but Rie probably knew that. The Alpha shook her head and spoke.
"No foul news actually. I was just informing you of the new pack that has claimed the southern territory in the Gwyrdd Forest." she explained. The black wolfess turned her cold gaze to the creamy white female next to Rie, and the wolf tucked in her tail. Ebony just returned her eyes to Rie once again.

"New pack? Sounds interesting." Rie knew that Ebony wasn't exactly the warmest femme on the face of the earth, but she didn't mind. They had a mutual sort of friendship going on regardless, so there was nothing said on behalf of Ebony's behavior. "Who is it that runs the land? I have not smelled any new scents around here, so I'm assuming they've came from somewhere farther away than our lands?" Just because she hadn't smelled anyone, didn't mean that no one new was around. It simply meant that they had probably elluded her, or had indeed come from somewhere far away.

"She calls herself Serenity, and I do believe she is from far off. I found her earlier this morning, so I'm not sure if she has been there for long. Like I said before, she has claimed th southern part as her land now, and calls her pack, Amithyst." she said. Ebony flicked an ear, disgruntled that she did not know more about this new pack. She wasn't the one to be in the blue, always wanting to know what was going on, and always did. She brushed off her annoyance and payed attention to the matter at hand.

Rie nodded her head, thinking on the idea that there were now three packs in these lands. Ones that would hopefully become harmonious as time went on. "Well, with any luck she'll be as passive as both of us are. I have seen no signs of anything really out of place. Maybe a third pack will do us good around here." Shifting a bit Rie curled her tail around her paws, looking more like the alpha she was in that position. "I shall have to go and meet this Serenity, however, so that we'll know each other should anything happen. Thank you for the news Ebony, it is greatly appreciated." Even though she knew the black femme wasn't going to smile back she smiled anyway, showing her gratitude that the other Alphess would bring her such news rather than let her find it out for herself another day.

"Of course," Ebony said, nodding her head. She gave another fleeting look at Denali before she turned halfway to leave. "Untill next time, and good hunting." the Alpha said before she walked back into the woods, heading back to her pack. Ebony then broke into a run and her dark pelt blended in with the shadows of the trees.

Denali blinked after the wolf had left and looked to her Alpha. "Freaky," she mumbled, looking back to the spot the Black Fae had gone before the darkness swallowed her up. She didn't know how Rie could have a normal conversation with the wolf without shivering under her cold stare. Her Alpha had some guts, and Denali respected her even more for that. Guts were something Denali would never have.

"Good hunting." Rie responded before her earthen brown eyes watched the other Alphess pad off ad out of sight. She was rather a mystery to most wolves in the area, but Rie didn't mind so much. Ebony had never caused her harm and had never given her any reason to doubt her trust and loyalty. As far as Rie was concerned Ebony was a good friend and as close to a packmate as one can get from being in another pack.
Rie chuckled when she heard Denali's words. The other femme amused her with her childishness towards things, though it wasn't a rude amusement. More like she simply enjoyed Denali's take on the world around them. "Now, now, no cause to be rude. Ebony brought us good news, and news that I shall have to check out for myself." She paused a moment before standing, tail raised and eyes scanning the forest around them. "I shall be heading south for now to check out the new Alphess. Would you wish to accompany me, Denali? I could use some company." Smiling, she let her warm gaze fall on her companion. That gaze would let the other know she didn't have to go if she didn't want to. That Rie wouldn't pressure her into coming with her down to the southern lands.
