Crag walked slowly along the gurgling river, his black fur reflecting on the water. His white stripe sticking out clearly on his chest and head. He found it. He found the exact place he had met Lobo. That friend. His first. The one who had been killed by Ebony. Well, Ebony was dead now. Crag had made sure of that. At last, Lobo could rest in peace. Then Crag realized something. Lobo will never know. Lobo will never know that Ebony was defeated. The evil that plagued this land is at last gone. The thing he vowed would be destroyed at last is! In fact, almost no one will ever know. I haven't met very many wolves who actually knew of Ebony. All the ones who did helped defeat her... This great thing will never be known. He looked up and shouted, "You have been avenged, Lobo!" Then he howled, long, haunting, and sad. All the pain he had suffered through was evident in his howl. It was the howl of one who had lost much, and suffered through more than many ever would in their life time. It was the howl, of Crag.

Luxon wound her way through the edge of the Lakota pack land. The pack had not needed her skills in some time. The inactivity made her fur itch. Before long she'd end up being a pup-sitter if she wasn't careful. Scent markers informed her that she had left the territory, and that was just fine with her. For awhile she spent time taking in the scents of the unclaimed land. The pine needles under foot sent up sharp scents while whisper of the river in the distance mingled along nicely with her thoughts. At the moment there was no illness of injury to attend so she simply let her mind wander over her short life. Her family, and the time she'd spent with the Amithyst pack were largely present.
A howl erupted into the air making her jump. She hadn't scented anyone in that direction. A moment later she realized that that had been because there was virtually no wind. She hesitated, one long leg lifted in the air, before moving toward the origin of the sound. Upon arriving she couldn't help but notice how small he was compared the sound he'd made.
Now that she was closer she was regretting her choice to come over to the male. What if he wanted to talk? That she could handle as long as it was about himself. Most males tended to talk about themselves anyway, unless they were too interested. She knew where that tended to lead, but she was well aware that she had nothing to fear at the moment.
"Greetings Howler, I heard your call. How does your singing go today?" Her ears were kept carefully between erect and lowered. Her tail swung gently from side to side. If he couldn't tell from her tone that she wasn't a threat at least he'd be able to tell by her posturing.

Crag's ears twitched at a voice. "Greetings Howler, I heard your call. How does your singing go today?" Crag's eyes widened, and he whirled around to face the wolf, crouched down, cowering. He was slightly relieved when he saw the wolf's posture, but if here was one thing he had learned, it was not to trust anyone. They could change at any time. For the better, or for the worse. He'd also decided that if he trusted someone, something would likely happen to them. That's how it's gone with just about everyone. "Th- The singing goes fine... I w-was just venting some of my grief... He swallowed, and tried to control his quivering. Crag had always been a very timid wolf, due to his past. And none of the recent events helped. He probably should have been more courageous after his victory, but alas, he wasn't. What do y-you want with me? He asked nervously. His eyes scanned briefly for possible escape routes. He wasn't going to trust anyone yet.

Luxon took a step back. She was surprised by how timid the wolf before her was. Normally wolves with howls as loud as his were braver. Her ears swiveled slightly as she thought. It was very unusual for anything larger than a rabbit to be intimidated of her.
"Th- The singing goes fine... I w-was just venting some of my grief..." So that's what that had been about. She lowered her head for a moment to further drive the point that she wasn't on attack mode. "What do y-you want with me?" The question made her stop and think for a moment. She wasn't entirely sure why she'd come over when she'd left her pack for some time on her own. New conversation? Or was it the medic in her responding to the pain she'd heard in his song?
"Were that I could answer that question...firstly, I'd prefer that you calmed yourself. I'm a healer not a warrior. Secondly, if it's in your willingness to give, a bit of friendly conversation would be more than alright with me." She sat and flashed what she hoped was the least intimidating grin she could muster.

"Were that I could answer that question...firstly, I'd prefer that you calmed yourself. I'm a healer not a warrior. Secondly, if it's in your willingness to give, a bit of friendly conversation would be more than alright with me." Crag swallowed and nodded. She said she was a healer, so maybe wasn't too big of a threat. He still wouldn't rust her, but he'd at least listen to her. He sat a little more comfortably, and he decided to except her request for conversation. "My name is Crag, and I've done many things that few will know about. May I know your name? I would help gain my trust. As you have probably seen, I'm not very brave. Regardless of the things I've accomplished." He thought back to the fight, it seemed so recent. He thought back to when Lobo was still alive. It felt like it was a thousenad years ago, but really, it was quite recent. He had avenged his friend. He hoped Lobo would be able to rest in piece.
