The under-sized wolf found himself in the moor like he usually did, his feet moving toward it without his permission. It seemed as if this open meadow drew him in like metal to a magnet. Perhaps it was because of the wide open space and the sun that poured down onto his fur without interruption from the trees that usually loomed above in the forest. But before he could start to see the air start to shimmer and wave with heat or a weed to tumble passed his peripheral vision, the cold snow that began to fall broke him from his spell.
He grumbled a noise in his throat before he jumped across the hard ground, avoiding frozen ice patches. The hard grass crunched under his small paws and the air in front of him smoked as his warm breath hit the cold. He stopped and perched on top of a rock big enough for all of his small paws to fit and looked around. The cold bit his nose and ears until they stung and the frosty wind slipped through his thin coat to slap at his skin. As much as he absolutely detested the weather and the wind that was trying to kill him, he couldn't bring himself to leave just yet.

Z'ev stared down upon his territory, the clean sweep of land sanded down by the layer of sweet snow that not even the powerful rays of the sun could heat. His dark gaze intensified as he observed his surroundings. A cloud of fog puffed out of his maw, quickly blown by the chilly northern winds. In his mind's eye he could see the lush grass weave with the wind creating musical harmony, he could nearly feel the warmth on his back. Even now he could, but his eyes could not find the comfort in the grass, obscured by the oncoming winter.
Blink.
A small, casual movement sent his eyes spiraling down to a lock on. A swift blur of summer colors gamboled across the plain, zigzagging between the more noticeable patches of snow. Each time the canine narrowly landed in its obvious destination, expertly keeping its silent stealthy approach to wherever he led himself to. The wolf seemed young, but Z'ev knew better than to share his own ignorance to his pack mates. Kaan. Not even the lowest of the lowest could escape his sharp eyes.
The desert wolf pulled to a halt on top of a large stone, paws delicately placed upon the freezing texture. His eyes searched around for something still unknown to Z'ev himself. Z'ev perched on his high stand overlooking the Ethiopian Wolf, his mysteriousness drawing him closer, if even just for a glance. With nothing to say, Z'ev waited quietly, and patiently, for his omega to notice him.

It started to snow. Small, white, cold, wet ice crystals began to fall with heavy endurance. The wolf wondered to himself how something so magically beautiful could be so utterly detesting. The tiny puffs soon grew have in size and clung to his dark sanded fur like flies to honey. In disgust the wolf shook out his coat, sending the flakes flying to the ground. Though tiny specks still remained and altered the look of his pelt, as if he were old and tiny grey hairs were starting to appear.
Finally he had had enough. With an unattractive grunt he jumped onto the ground, flicking snow from his ears. He began again as he started, avoiding the coldest patches though he couldn't re-frame from the snow completely now that it was starting to cover everything. But the small, fox-like wolf froze and turned to the side. Something from the corner of his eye had caught his attention. It was a brownish color that clashed against the white and green of winter. But with a jerk of the head the Ethiopian was now staring down his Alpha, who sat ominously only a few hundred yards away, just watching him. The Omega for a moment forgot his place, and his tail twitched out in annoyance before he behaved himself once again; yet his expression didn't change as the wolf stared at Z'ev through the snow. He was then reminded of the amount that was now gathering on his head and he shook his neck, sneezing away the stray flakes on his nose.
The desert wolf was not built to endure this weather, and the chill was starting to numb his practically bare legs, let alone his large ears and wet nose. He imagined icicles hanging from his nostrils, which rewarded a barking laugh from the Ethiopian. He shook his head after one last glance at his Alpha before trotting into the trees where there would at least be some hope of cover.

Z'ev blinked as Kaan froze and simultaneously snapped his head up, catching eye contact with him. His body twitched, out of nervousness perhaps? Or annoyance? Or out of will to submit? Z'ev gave a flick of an ear, neither wolf showing any expression. He was never one for making others obey him, or to submit to his own orders. No... The Lakota was a peaceful pack, open to any who were willing to join. Of course order was well kept though, he made sure of that.
His intense gaze flickered as he watched his omega trail into the bare trees, barking a laugh along the way. But of what? Ever so slowly Z'ev stood up, roughly shaking the snow that piled upon his fur. The cloud of snow slowly drifted down, landing on the ground with a gentle touch, disappearing among the mounting layer of snow. He bent down in a lean stretch, tongue lolled out of his maw in a relaxed state.
Soon enough he headed out, leisurely trotting down the small mound of ground that he had stood upon. As he moved, head and tail slightly bobbing, the drifting flurries of wet snow pushed him back. Experience led him on. He silently treaded after the smaller canine, though older. The trees slowly thickened as he followed the wolf, though the bare trees did little for cover. It was winter after all, the leaves had not yet come in for spring. “Kaan,” he gently greeted.

The small brute twisted around, his lithe frame twitching away in surprise. He had been too deep in thought to notice the Alpha walk up next to him. Kaan made a noise in his throat as his fur began to fall flat against his body once again and he lowered his fluffed tail. The wolf seemed to be more cat-like than he was dog-like.
"Surprise, surprise me!" the Ethiopian said. "'Kaan' is all you say after such a scare? His heart is sliding back down his throat!" The wolf spoke in a very odd way, as if third person. But it was something he had brought back from the hot deserts. All of the small red wolves like himself talked in a queer manner. "I guess then he should reply with 'Good afternoon,' or perhaps 'Hello, to you as well!' But no, he will not speak either of those, instead he says, 'Z'ev."'
The wolf slunk around his Alpha and walked a gait toward a thick branched tree. The limb above provided a cover from the snow that fell so he at least wouldn't have his large ears full of the cold white powder.

Nanuq was laying in the snow abit away from them. She had not noticed them until they started talking. When they did she lifted her head to look at them. Snow fell as she did. She had been motionless before now so her dark pelt was covered with snow, making her a wolf shaped snowman. The snow was already replacing the bunch she had knocked off. Nanuq, unlike Kaan, liked the snow. She liked the way it rested on her pelt and cooled her nose.
When Nanuq noticed her alpha she made no attemt to do anything that a different wolf might. But then, she never did. She would lisen to Z'ev but she was her own wolf in a sense. Her pack was used to that. Though they might not all like it. Her eyes shifted from Kaan to Z'ev as they talked. Snow flackes landed on her muzzle and blocked her view, so she shook them off.

The lighter colored wolf twisted around, jerking in surprise at his voice. Whoops. Z'ev really didn't meant to scare the poor wolf. He was cold enough at the moment and many ignored him. He didn't want to give the wolf another reason to leave. However far down the line, Z'ev tried to keep everyone on a somewhat respectable level. A growl bubbled up in the wolf's throat before his fur began to fall flat, Z'ev slowed to a halt, paws deep in the snow. Gently and calmly he sat down, not letting the omega's nerves get to him. It happened sometimes, that was understandable. He himself got lost in thought many times before, he wasn't ashamed to admit it.
“Surprise, surprise me! 'Kaan' is all you say after such a scare? His heart is sliding back down his throat!” Z'ev blinked and pointedly ignored his speech and dipped his head, but not out of respect, simply out of courtesy. He didn't need anyone to get the wrong idea. Kaan looked at him and went on, “I guess then he should reply with 'Good afternoon,' or perhaps 'Hello, to you as well!' But no, he will not speak either of those, instead he says, 'Z'ev'.” Z'ev's whiskers twitched, amused. Z'ev watched the wolf as he slunk around him, low to the ground, toward a thick branched tree which provided cover from the cold snow.
When he was comfortable Z'ev dipped his head, “I apologize if I... surprised you Kaan. I did not mean to sneak up on you.” The Iberian Wolf highly doubted he scared him. He breathed a huff of breath as snow fell onto his coat, though it was hardly given a second thought. Every year it snowed here and by now, Z'ev was quiet used to it. However, he wondered how Kaan managed to come here anyway. His fur gave off a warm feeling and his body was much smaller and more light-weight. He wondered why he stayed, though he was grateful. Every member was well looked after. Even if some did not get along, they all wanted peace did they not? Otherwise they might as well leave... even so, Z'ev helped those he could.
Hoping to calm Kaan's nerves he said broadly, yet gently and soothingly, “So where has your day walked you to so far Kaan? I do hope that the snow has not caused you too much discomfort.” His words were not as oddly matched as Kaan's, but it certainly had an odd sound to it. A light shuffle of snow behind him made his way to his ears, causing a slight twitch. It was pointedly ignored though. If anything at all, it would hardly be a threat with two wolves about. Even so, Z'ev slightly lifted his nose to the air. The frost bitten air cooled his senses, yet beyond that he could make out the light scent of a pack mate. He would not pay any mind unless they chose to make an appearance. Kindness and courtesy did bring him somewhere sometimes.

Nanuq smiled. It was almost like Z'ev WANTED her to say some thing so she obliged him. "Hello, Z'ev, Kaan. A like cool for you is it, Kaan?" Her voice seemed to come from a snow pile, since that was what she practically was by now. "I always did think you sounded a bit weird by I never took much notice." Nanuq, unlike Z'ev, was very straight forward and had almost no tack. If you did something wrong she would go right out and say it. Up until now Nanuq had mainly been talking to Kaan.. Now she switched to Z'ev, "You know, sometimes you really annoy me but you are the alpha so oh well" Nanuq had no strange way of speaking unless you thing being straight foreword is strange.
Nanuq shook her had to let her see. Snow had gotten in her eyes again. She made a funny picture with only her head visable.

The small wolf grumbled small nothings under his breath, his large ears flattened over his small head and curled his tail around his paws. He never liked a crowd. It gave more distraction and vulnerability; more likely to be attacked. Though once he was drawn from his spell he was able to smell the she-wolf before she had appeared beneath the snow. Kaan once again crinkled his nose in disgust to the stuff.
"He sees her, repulsive it looks with that cold powder. How can one stay under something so disastrous? The heat is what is best." The whelp snorted from his nose at the wolf's blunt disrespect. "Weird what you say, is you for him. Bite your tongue in fear of it being ripped one day." Kaan wouldn't always be so crude, though this certain femme seemed to rattle his nerves like loose bolts. "The nerve!" Kaan twitched his head to the side, baring his fangs.

Nanuq watched coolly as Kaan rattled off He sees her, repulsive it looks with that cold powder. How can one stay under something so disastrous? The heat is what is best. Weird what you say, is you for him. Bite your tongue in fear of it being ripped one day. The nerve! She grinned. She loved to annoy Kaan. And so she replied. "I like the snow. Your just messed up. Also, no wolf could rip out my tongue for they would be dead long before they had a chance to try. I am lager then most male wolves including you Tiny"
The snow was getting into her eyes again so yet again, she shook it off. She loved the snow. It tickled and was a nice cool touch on her fur. She stretched though shaking most of the snow off. The movement of stretching felt almost as good as the snow. Not as good but almost. She settled back down to let it settle again. She waited for a response.

The hair along his spine bristled, making him look almost twice as big. His chops curled up to bare his surprisingly dagger-sharp incisors. Kaan turned his head toward the wolf and a ferocious snarl ripped passed his throat that seemed too terrifying to come form such a small animal. He hated the world and how nothing seemed to go his way, he hated the cold an the snow that he was now forced to bear, he hated how much bigger every other wolf he came upon was, but now, what he despised the most, was the incredulous femme in front of him. Kaan took a step forward. He may not be large, but he had speed and brains on his side.
"She will regret those words, he says...she will take back them after he is done with her...she will wish that it was only her tongue that will go missing... because now Kaan is very angry, and she will be first to go." The small wolf let out another menacing growl that reverberated from his chest and exploded from his muzzle. His haunches lowered as he prepared to spring.

Nanuq watched calmly as the stupid male approached her. She knew he was thinking that he had brains and speed on his side. That a female wolf as large as her could no possibly move very fast. Lots of others and thought that. Not that any of them were a live now but still. She will regret those words, he says...she will take back them after he is done with her...she will wish that it was only her tongue that will go missing... because now Kaan is very angry, and she will be first to go. Kaan growled at her. She smirked. Of course she must be right about the fact that he thought he had brains on his side to. Now, in truth, speed and brains were equal between them. It was just that Nanuq had size on her side.
She look at Kaan with an easy grin on her face. Her muscles had tensed, but since they were buried under the snow Kaan would not know that and would think that she thought he would not spring. And when he did, she would no longer be there. She would be gone, soon to be behind him and then on his back, flatting him. That would only happen if he was stupid though. If him was smart he will have turned around before she can jump. Though of course, how smart he would be doring this battle was up to him. Wolves driven by anger wore out fast and were impusive, doing things with out thinking. How angry was he? They would find out.
