Her smile was large; sharp, white, gleaming teeth bracketing the entrance to her mouth. Tan-red chops bordered the bleached knives, the same color of grey-brown, tinted with orange-red, ran along the femme's frame. Her coat was thick and soft, without any patches of missing hair or scars to mar her body. She was new, fresh, young; with only a few, short years of experience under her belt. Though none of that mattered to this gentle wolf, because to her, nothing could bring her down. She was tall, lean, fast, strong. She could overcome everything that was thrown at her; or so she thought.
Joining Amithyst was the first step of her life changing experience. She was Beta; the second in command, above everyone except the one who ruled them all. It had been easy for her, though she was still oblivious to the world outside her own, small, safe, imaginary little box. To her, life was simple. Live and laugh and love and hunt and eat. Fight and quarrel when needed. Survive. That was how she had lived before Amithyst, before Ardalyn. But there were still many things beyond her knowledge that had, and was still, going on in the forest. She knew nothing of the wolf tyrant of the past, or the danger that still slipped in the shadows on the trees.
And then Kohsai passed, and Riuk discovered the meaning of grief. Of agony and sadness. She had not known the she-wolf well, but she had learned to love before she had anything else, and the emotion was strong in her. She loved before she hated or judged. She cared by nature. So she learned that with love came pain. That there was a thin line between life and death, sickness and health.
The next emotion she discovered was an even greater love, though she didn't know it at the time. Though somewhere in a deep crevice of her brain, her heart realized it before even she did. She had felt a more passionate bond with the warrior from day one, though she didn't think much of it, because she did not know of the feeling. But as time grew in length, so did her emotions.
Then there was fear, terror, and even more sadness. She couldn't understand why the ravens lay scattered across the terrain, blood matting their ebon feathers and the white snow around them. She understood that they were dead, that they had been murdered ferociously, but she had no idea as to why they were killed. Was is from pure evilness, the lust for killing and blood? But with fear, she found comfort, and she found that comfort came from love; and vice versa.
From happy and oblivious she had gone to scared and fatigued. Her horizons were spreading as the alien emotions and faces had flew across her sky. She was like an unknowing puppy learning to walk, or walking out of the den for the first time. To learn that there was another whole world outside those dirt walls and dark crevices. To emerge from the black and into the light. To see the sky, the trees, the grass, and not know what any of it was. She was a stranger to her own world, and her journey was far from over...

Second Chapter
Her nerves were damaged and torn, and it was the first time that Riuk's hope had dwindled. Serenity, the one that had accepted her into the pack from the very beginning, had been murdered. The Fae had already learned the emotion of despair, so the grief that took her was not a surprise. But as a new Alpha had taken over, and her raw wounds had started to heal, the sickness that had taken Kohsai was now upon the pack once again. Though this time, it was the Medic herself who had fallen ill.
And it was up to Riuk to help find the cure.

Third Chapter
Riuk returned with the herb that would save Sirra's life, but when she came upon her dying friend, she saw a large wolf looming over her. Her first reaction was to attack and protect her clan mate. However, Sirra was insane with her sickness, and while Riuk's back was turned in protection, Sirra attacked. The stranger wolf saved Riuk, but all the femme could do was stare in shock at the two rolling around on the ground. She now experienced fear and confusion once again. She didn't know what to do. Attack the brute that had saved her, or help him with Sirra. When Riuk finally snapped out of her stupor, she dashed forward with the Thyme and put it into Sirra's mouth. Her struggles slowly started to cease as she ingested the herb, and Riuk's heart calmed as well. The herb was doing it's job... Sirra, her dear friend, would be okay.
As her savior started to walk away, she didn't want him to leave. Why would she? He had helped her with her friend and possibly saved her from gaining the the sickness as well. She called out to him and thanked him. He turned and returned to her, sitting by her side. He kept her company and calmed her fears while they talked, and she learned that his name was Ruedi.
Blunt, one of Fenris' kin joined them soon after. This is when Riuk experienced fear once again. Her fur stood on end and her muscles were tense. Ruedi fought along beside her when the demon wolf attacked. Ruedi was thrown away, and in that moment blunt viscously ripped and teared at her. Ruedi tackled Blunt off of her, but Riuk was still severely hurt. However, that didn't seem to matter. She could have been dead or alive, and she still wouldn't have been safe. Ruedi was knocked out and Blunt came back for her.
Broken and bloodied, Riuk heaved herself to her feet. Blunt wasn't in any better shape either, but he was much larger and stronger than her. However, RIuk had spirit, heart, courage. She would fight until her very last breath. She clung to his throat, and even as he thrashed and bucked, she wouldn't let go. Soon the life slowly ebbed from him and he fell to the ground. Riuk lay there next to him in his pool of blood, but she didn't have the strength to move. She had come out victorious, but now her life was at risk.
Ruedi woke later on and lay down beside her. He spoke calming words to her as her vision started to blacken, and soon, when Sirra awoke as well and joined them, her world turned to darkness.
