As Krynn spoke to Kaan, Nunuq noded slowly. She knew what the wolf was getting at. She was a very smart wolf, though some wolves though other wise, since the thought that any wolf her size, which was the size of a large male, though she was a female, must be all bran, no brains.
"It was nice to meet you and I hope I see you again in the near future. What is your name? do you have a pack?"
Nunuq nodded to the wolf. "It was nice to meet you too. I am Nunuq, delta of Lakota, though that has never restricted me. I like being friendly, but some times that is not allowed." She told Krynn, eyeing Kaan.

The small wolf shuddered, shrinking back ad the wolf's vehemence. He wanted to explain that his lies were not personally done and that he was just following orders, but chose to stay quiet just like mother wolf ordered. He was serious when he said that he would obey the Fae. Takar had been his master, for only a little while, but once the wolf joined the ranks of the Kin, Kaan would loyally obey all of them. Mother wolf was related to Takar, and plus, she wanted in on the deal, so he would remain faithful to her.
Kaan obediently nodded to Mother wolf, not at all scared by her threats any longer. He was used to such harsh words and he had already decided to do her bidding. His tail wagged as he listened to them speak, not uttering a single word as mother wolf conversed with Nanuq. The small wolf bared his teeth at the Lakota female, but otherwise made no other move. He waited patiently for his master to be finished, and then he would lead her to Ebony and the other masters.

Krynn nodded her head to Nanuq. "You are right to be wary and remain so." There was going to be bloodshed very soon; Krynn could taste it on the wind. Signalling to Kaan that she wanted to leave, Krynn started walking away. "Let’s go Kaan." Flicking her tail, Krynn looked to her sons once more and felt a pull in her chest. She didn't want to leave them here, but there was nothing she could do about it. I will come back and burry them as soon as I can.

"Let’s go Kaan."
At her word the small wolf happily obliged, trotting after her heels. One of the main factors of Kaan's oddness was his immediate change of attitude toward others. He could be deviant and rude, and then be immediately obedient and cheerful. He was happy with mother wolf now because she was joining his side, and whoever was with the kin was who he would obey.
Kaan smiled smugly at Nanuq as they began to walk away. Take that! he seemed to say with his eyes. When Krynn stopped, so did Kaan, waiting by her flank. She looked stricken as she took one last glance at her sons, and Kaan, being the kind wolf that he was now, gently prodded her side as he tried to comfort her. He licked her fur but remained quiet. She had ordered him not to speak, had she not?
The small animal walked ahead, leading the way to where the kin would be. He stopped ahead to see if Krynn was following, and then headed forward once again. He headed east toward the bald meadow. That would be their first stop.
